About ICAS Panchkula
About ICAS Panchkula
The Indian Council of Astrological Sciences (ICAS), established in 1960 and headquartered in Chennai, is India’s most respected national body for the study, promotion, and research of Vedic astrology. With chapters across all major Indian states, ICAS has set the academic and ethical standards by which serious Jyotish education is measured in India and among Indian communities worldwide.
The ICAS Panchkula Chapter, located at Sector 12 A, Panchkula, Haryana, was established to bring structured, curriculum-based Jyotish education to the tri-city region of Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula. The chapter is affiliated with the ICAS National Secretariat and follows the national examination and certification framework while adapting its teaching calendar, workshop programme, and community engagement to the needs of students in this region.
Our programmes range from the year-long foundational Jyotish Praveena certificate to the advanced Jyotish Visharada and the research-level Jyotish Bhushan. Specialised short courses in KP Astrology, Numerology, and Vastu Shastra round out a comprehensive curriculum designed to serve both the serious aspirant and the dedicated practitioner.
Our Mission
The mission of the ICAS Panchkula Chapter is to make classical Vedic astrological education accessible, rigorous, and ethically grounded for students across the Haryana-Punjab region. We achieve this through:
- Structured, examination-backed programmes aligned with the national ICAS curriculum.
- A faculty of certified, experienced, and continuously learning practitioners.
- A culture of chart-based inquiry, honest peer review, and responsible consultation practice.
- Regular workshops, seminars, and study circles that keep the learning community active between formal classes.
- Research activities that examine classical astrological principles with contemporary analytical methods.
Our Vision
We envision a Panchkula Chapter that is recognised as the foremost centre for Vedic astrological education in northern India — one that graduates confident, ethical, and intellectually equipped astrologers who serve their communities with integrity and continue the unbroken tradition of Jyotish scholarship into the next generation.
We aspire to build a living alumni network of ICAS-certified practitioners across the region, to publish original research in Vedic astrology, and to foster dialogue between Jyotish and allied disciplines including Ayurveda, Sanskrit studies, and Indian cultural heritage.
Our Values
- Integrity: We teach and practise astrology with honesty, transparency, and respect for the individual.
- Scholarship: We ground every teaching in classical texts and documented principles, distinguishing tradition from speculation.
- Ethics: We hold ethical consultation conduct as non-negotiable — astrology must empower, never frighten.
- Community: We build a warm, inclusive learning environment where every student feels seen and supported.
- Continuity: We are stewards of a 5,000-year tradition and take that responsibility seriously.
